TRILLIUM RIDGE SUGAR WORKS MAPLE SYRUP

Exceptional maple syrup and sugar has been produced on this farm by early Irish immigrants since at least the 1840s, and likely longer, the knowledge having been shared with early settlers by local Indigenous nations. As a mixed Indigenous-Settler family, they continue to honour the roots of this Indigenous knowledge through community and ceremony. As members of the Wolastoqiyik nation, Mahkwan Kadeek is our Wolastoqey (Maliseet) translation of ‘the place where maple syrup is made’.
